My poor, neglected scrap blog. Well, my other blog is a feeling loney, too. The strange thing is I HAVE been scrapbooking. Mostly cards, but I've been doing lots of things that I should have posted here. Hmmm.....well, anyway, have gotten some mojo back by joining a Facebook group dedicated to gettin' our scrap back on! I've already completed a challenge over there and also finished up this 2-page 12x12 today. Yay for Mojo!! (Layout lifted from the Spring 2013 Close To My Heart Catalog.)
Scrap for a Cure....AND FINISHED THE CHALLENGE!!
Sunday, March 20, 2011
I've participated in this event "from afar" for the last few years. I always look forward to the challenges and donating to a good cause. This year it also came at a time that enabled me to finish my 50 page challenge!!! YAY!! I CAN SHOP!!
Here are my pages and the challenge that inspired them:
Challenge 1: This layout is a double page 12x12. The challenge was to utilize a sketch for your layout.
Challenge 2: 8x8 featuring my oldest son, Cody. The layout had to have stars, buttons, arrows and circles.
Challenge 3: This 12x12 layout was created from the challenge of using non-traditional and traditional colors on a holiday page. This is my daughter and close family friend Olivia on Halloween.
Challenge 4: This is a 12x12 layout featuring my head. The journaling is about my friend Patti H in Canada who sent me the hat as a gift after a trip East to visit her. I kept saying "eh" in true Canadian fashion...but then was silly enough to wonder how that is actually spelled. The challenge was to do mostly black and white with a splash of color and to use ink and ribbon.
Challenge 5: This is my husband and I in Fiji on our 25th Anniversary. The challenge involved scraplifting a page from Scrapjazz.com. This layout is 12x12:
Challenge 6: This is also 12x12 and features Olivia. The challenge was to use orange, pink, ribbon and scallops. My scallop is one of the strips behind the picture.
Challenge 7: This 12x12 follows the challenge of using white space. This is my oldest son, Cody, hoping to catch a glimpse of a whale on the Oregon Coast last year.
Challenge 8: This is a 12x12 of my poor dog Hamish after a scuffle with one of the other dogs landed him with a dislocated hip. The challenge was to do a layout with an animal on it.

Getting a little closer....
Tuesday, March 1, 2011
Still working on my 50 page challenge. It seems like it is taking me forever but I think it's because I really, REALLY want to shop for some new cartridges for the Cricut I got for Christmas. So I got busy the last couple of days and knocked some more pages out. Hopefully I will be done with this challenge before the weekend is over! These pages put me at 44!!
The first set of pages are all 12x12:
And these pages are all 8.5 x 8.5:
This page is also a 12x12, but I have to give some credit here. This is a scrap lift from a very talented gal over at Scrapjazz named Kimberly. I love her style! She is a digital scrapper but when I saw her layout I HAD to copy it! Thanks for the inspiration, Kimberly!
Here is her layout.....
and here is my version:
Thanks for looking....I'M ALMOST THERE!

Circle Journal
Saturday, February 26, 2011
As part of my "use your stash" challenge I made these pages for a circle journal that I joined. The idea of a circle journal is that several people (we have 13 in this group) each come up with a theme, come up with rules or instructions on how to do a layout based on the theme (or have no rules) and then mail off to the first person. The journals get passed around the "circle" and in 13 months I will have a completed album full of pages about friends I have across the states/Canada/Italy. So very cool!!
These pages are all 8-1/2 x 11. Thanks for looking!!

Still working on my 50 page challenge...
Sunday, January 23, 2011
...but I got a new toy for Christmas to help with it. I finally got my Cricut machine out of the box a week ago and quickly did two pages and that makes my grand total 31 pages completed without buying any new supplies!
The only cartridge I have right now is George, the one that comes with the machine. I can see how this may turn in to quite an obsession.
Both pages are 12x12

A couple more...
Friday, November 5, 2010
Just a couple more to add to my 50 page challenge...but these two are for OTHER challenges, as well!
This first one is from the Blue Crew Challenges on Scrapjazz.com. The challenge was to use an ad as inspiration for a layout. See the challenge here. This is a 2-page 12x12 layout. Love the ad! It was perfect for the pictures I had in my stack to scrap.
This next page is for the challenge over on Scrap Whispers. Georgina challenged us to use bright colors....and she should recognize most of what I used on this page because it is from a kit I bought from HER! lol!!
Thanks for the challenges, ladies! It keeps me going and helps me towards the ultimate goal: SHOP!

Working towards being able to SHOP!!
Continuing on with my 50 page challenge. I really want to finish this because when I walked in to Michaels to purchase adhesive (which I'm allowed to buy...how else would I finish the challenge? lol!) there were MANY, MANY goodies I wanted to buy. I almost caved, but I was a good girl and put it all back except for the adhesive that I originally went in for.
I think I'll send my daughter to buy my adhesive next time.
All pages are 12x12 and are my own creations this time around. Apparently I'm on a journaling strip phase....can't seem to journal this time around without it being on these strips of paper. Good thing these pages are going in several different albums.
Thanks for looking!!
